Using this configuration, your Fritz!Box will offer Pi-hole's IPv6 as local DNS server to its clients via DHCPv6 as well as Router Advertisement (RA/RDNSS, SLAAC). Local domain name (optional): Fritz!Box uses fritz.boxĭistribute Pi-hole as DNS server via IPv6 ¶.IP address of your DHCP server (router): IP of the Fritz!Box, standard is 192.168.178.1.Local network in CIDR notation: Standard IP range of the Fritz!Box is 192.168.178.0/24.The Conditional forwarding option is responsible for this. All other requests are sent to the upstream DNS server of the Pi-Hole. Only those queries are sent to the Fritz!Box that attempt to determine hostnames for IP addresses (clients) of the local network. The Fritz!Box may only be the upstream DNS server of the Pi-hole if Pi-hole is not the upstream DNS server of the Fritz!Box. Optional: Allow DNS queries only from the Pi-hole Optional: Increasing the priority of DNS requests Hostnames instead of IP addresses in Pi-hole's web interface - Conditional forwardingĭistribute Pi-hole as DNS server via IPv6 Pi-hole as upstream DNS server for your Fritz!Box Hope u like it :)I can share the dashboard if you guys want (its not that bad to create).Optional: Dual operation: LAN & VPN at the same timeĭistribute Pi-hole as DNS server via DHCP Īfter all of this, i finally came up with a dashboard: The prometheus.yaml is nothing special, just those two exporters :). prometheus.yml:/etc/prometheus/prometheus.yml The docker-compose.yml i used: version: '3'īuild: fritzbox_exporter/ # you need to checkout the git repository in this directoryĬommand: -path.rootfs=/host -web.listen-address=:9101 I setted up prometheus, grafana, node_exporter and the fb-exporter using docker (which was really simple). So i started my journey with this exporter. Currently it actually helps me alot, cuz i got massive problems with the ISP and my internet connection overall. I was like, hell yeah, im going to monitor that. So i began my search and quickly found a exporter for prometheus. You can even control your Fritz!Box over this "API". So, recently i discovered, that Fritz!Box (AVM) implemented the TR064 "protocol" to share informations/metrics about the internet connection, lan stuff and other fun things to play with. I thought it would be fun to share with you what i've done so far with my RPI3 :) Im Mirco from Germany, 23 years old and i like metrics. The best thing? The base model is only $20 $5!.ĭo you know a related subreddit? We'd love to know.
